Robert Mann Lowne's type anemometer, based on Benjamin Biram's 1842 patent, made by Louis Paschal Casella, London, England, 1861-1865. The anemometer was made for Dr. E. A. Parkes at the Royal Victoria Military Hospital, Netley, Hampshire. It was later used in mining.
