A photograph of three men advertising cigarettes, taken by James Jarche (1891-1965) for the Daily Herald newspaper on 24 November, 1932. The man on the left prominently holds a box of Player's cigarettes. The man in the centre indicates that these are preferred to the others offered by the man on the right. The men's suits and the wood-panelled setting create an office context for this photograph.

A photographic advert for Players cigarettes, taken in November 1932 by James Jarché for the Daily Herald.

The men's clothes and surroundings give the impression that they are in an office. The man in the centre refuses a cigarette from the man on the right, but accepts one from the box of Player's cigarettes offered to him by the man at the desk. The slogan 'Player's Please' was introduced in 1924.
