Verge escapement watch movement, without dial. Signed on backplate ‘Fromanteel’. The fusee arbor comes through the foot of the balance cock, which has two screws. By Ahasuerus Fromanteel, Holland, c. 1685.
There were several members of the Fromanteel family working both in the Netherlands and London. This movement's backplate design, where the fusee arbor extends through the foot of the balance cock, is more typical of Ahasuerus Fromanteel who worked in The Hague and Amsterdam.
