Leather-bound volumes with card boxes, plastic album and files covers, card and paper, Great Heck Accident Books of Condolence and sympathy letters and cards, gathered by GNER (Great North Eastern Railway), Feb. to Apr. 2001. The books were placed at various GNER stations and were signed by GNER staff, staff from other railway companies and industry bodies, MPs and the travelling public. They are accompanied by an album and file of sympathy cards, and a file of copies of sympathy letters received by Christopher Garnett, GNER Chief Executive.

The Great Heck accident occured on 28 Feb. 2001. 3 GNER staff and a Freightliner driver were among the 10 fatalities. It is the worst rail accident of the 21st century.
