Proposed railway plan Longcliffe, Annesley and Pinxton

Made:
circa 1890-1899 in Southampton
maker:
Ordnance Survey

Six inch ordnance survey map showing a proposed railway linking the Cromford and High Peak Railway at Longcliffe with the Great Northern Railway at Pinxton and the planned Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway's extension to London (later Great Central Railway) at Annesley.

This plan shows the route of a proposed railways drawn onto an ordnance survey map and highlighted in red. There is little information on the plan to indicate the source of the proposal, although the inclusion of a link with the (at the time) proposed Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway's extension to London suggests this proposed railway could have been prompted by the MSLR's new railway line.
