Original 8mm colour silent film. Various footage shot mostly in South West England, especially Cornwall and Devon, as well as East Midlands and East of England, in 1962 by C. K. Dunkley and edited together on 400 feet reel and stored in cardboard case. Shots of Britannia Class 7 70003 'John Bunyan' and GER class F48 65567. Shots of passengers on platforms and rail enthusiasts photographing departing locomotives. Each station passed through is documented with a shot of the station sign, including: Norwich Thorpe, Swaffham, Watton (Norfolk), Lelant, St Erth, Hellston, Bristol Temple Meads, Bude, Hatherleigh, Callington, Lelant (again), Marazion, Purley, Derby Midland, Eastbourne, Bluebell Halt, Salisbury. Shot of a metal boilerplate ("London & North Eastern 5567"), close up shot of the old BR 'lion and wheel' logo. Primarily wide and medium tracking shots of steam and diesel locomotives, occasionally in picturesque settings such as across a lake. The focus is on the locomotives, rather than on people or surrounding landscapes. At Eastbourne, shot of cars driving onto a "car carrier train". Some of the film shot from a railway bridge, including a shot of a fireman shovelling coal into the firebox. The film is primarily shot at lineside, with passenger view footage towards the end of the reel.
