Original 8mm colour footage, silent, filmed around 1968-1980. 25 feet reel. Footage content: Panoramic shot of traction engine rally taking place in a field. Line-up of several traction engines and steam rollers. Several engines and a steam lorry entering the field and lining up in the centre. Crowd, large group of people gathering around vehicles. Another traction engine powering an organ. Another engine, The Dalesman, on the road. Shit of a large ship passing the coast line with crowd watching.
This film is part of a collection of 150 8mm films made by John Arnott-Brown, railway enthusiast and amateur filmmaker. John Arnott-Brown filmed the railways in the United Kingdom, mostly steam, between 1960 and 1982. A few films include footage of railways abroad, especially Europe (e.g. Portugal, Spain). The collection includes 5 larger 400 feet reels of edited footage, whilst the rest of the collection is made of small 50 feet reels of unedited footage.
