Military physician. Casella made an anemometer (1914-920) using Robert Mann Lowne's design, for Dr. E. A. Parkes. Parkes used this anemometer at the Royal Victoria Military Hospital, Netley, Hampshire, England. Parkes later (1865) wrote an article for 'The Lancet', describing the use of the anemometer. This anemometer was then used in mining.
