Travelling-case, bespoke, in varnished plywood, for Model, 1:4 scale, of Miranda X4 satellite, on stand, by Hawker Siddeley Aircraft Company Limited, England, 1973-1974. The actual Miranda X4 satellite was originally designed to be launched from the Black Arrow rocket. However, the Black Arrow rocket programme was cancelled. Thus, in 1974, the Miranda X4 satellite was launched by a US Scout rocket instead. The British X Series satellites were technology demonstrators, used to investigate the outer space viability of materials and systems.
