Painting, watercolour on artists board, Knaresborough by H G Gawthorn, about 1928. Depicts a couple looking from a railway carriage window as it crosses Knaresborough viaduct. Below is the River Nidd, with punts, boats and a road bridge. The man, who is balding and holding a pipe, is seen from the rear, with the woman, who is wearing a hat and holding a guidebook, seen in profile. Framed and glazed (glass). Signed and with title lower right. Small plastic label fixed to the frame along the bottom edge reads: 'KNARESBOROUGH / ORIGINAL DESIGN ON / PERMANENT LOAN/ FROM THE L&NER Co.'
