Chromogenic print by Bert Hardy, printed in 1985, titled "As the Sun Sets." Originally published in Picture Post, September 15, 1956. Story titled "Where the Rice is Sweet", about rice harvesting in Portugal. Caption in magazine reads: "As the sun sets the last rice is carried onto the wagons. The bag was used in a 2020 research study led by Imogen Napper at the University of Plymouth.

Archive of correspondence etc. concerning Robert Johnson's involvement as a freelance civil engineer with railway building in Brazil, Portugal and elsewhere. Some 120 letters, copy letters, memoranda, estimates, sketch plans etc. (including correspondence from Brassey, Vignoles and Portuguese officials). The bulk of the papers relate to the involvement of British engineers and contractors in the building of some of Portugal's earliest railways.
