Original 8mm colour footage, silent, filmed around 1968-1980 in Portugal. 25 feet reel. Footage content: Portuguese Railway (CP) tank engine passing with passenger coaches and goods van. Shot of a station building. Mallet type 0-4-4-0 tank engine reversing into a station. Another tank engine reversing into the station with a passenger train. Shot filmed from the window of a passenger train as another passes. 4-6-0 arriving at a large station with another passenger train. CP 96 stands in a station. Close up of the number plate on the chimney and the Henschel & Sohn builders plate. Shots from the footplate of engine shed and station. Guard boarding and driver starting the train. John Arnott-Brown filmed the railways in the United Kingdom, mostly steam, between 1960 and 1982. A few films include footage of railways abroad, especially Europe (e.g. Portugal, Spain). The collection includes 5 larger 400 feet reels of edited footage, whilst the rest of the collection is made of small 50 feet reels of unedited footage.
