A letter from A Saile, Secretary and General Manager, London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR), Secretary and General Manager's Office, London Bridge, to John Miller, Secretary, Pullman Car Company, St Pancras Station, dated 14th December 1886, informing him that the board of the LB&SCR would not be willing to pay £16,000 for the seven cars in service and enquired as to the shortest contract the Pullman company would be willing to enter into.
