Photographs and papers relating to transmissions from the Old Vic Theatre

Six photographs of A.G.D. West working with radio equipment to demonstrate how the Old Vic Theatre would achieve its plans to broadcast extracts from its productions to a 2 L O Wireless in 1923. Also includes a photocopy of article 'The "Old Vic" Mystery Transmissions' by A.G.D. West, published in 'Popular Wireless Weekly' on 8 December 1923. West, then Assistant Chief Engineer at the BBC, explains the transmission apparatus and method of transmission which he engineered. Included in the article are two reproductions of the photographs in this file. Also included a receipt from Barratt's Photo Press Ltd for supply of the photographs.
