Methylene Chloride (CH?Cl?) is a chlorinated hydrocarbon of boiling point 39.8�C. It is a colourless mobile liquid of specific gravity 1.33 having a characteristic ethereal odour. It is an excellent solvent for fats, oils, waxes, rubber, many resins and plastics including cellulose acetate.
