Test of materials book

This volume records information relating to testing that took place on materials used by the company. Information recorded includes a description of the material to be tested and the reference number and date of the test. Facts and figures are given relating to the following; original dimensions, yield point, breaking strain, elongation, fractured dimensions, reduction of the area per centimetre, bending angle. There is room for any remarks, the date the material passed its test and which foremen authorised it as passed. The front of the volume includes a bundle of loose papers dating from 1897- 1898, which includes drawings.
