Original 8mm amateur film, reel 12, railway footage, Llangollen to Ruabon on Train

Original 8mm colour footage, silent, filmed circa 1964, in Wales. 25 feet reel. Footage content: railway journey filmed through window from on board moving train, passing along side river, continuing through countryside, arriving at a station passing a standard class 75026. Train continuing joruney along river. Ivatt 2-6-0 arriving at station with a passenger train. Train passing through countryside, journey filmed from a carriage window, arrival at Llangollen Station. Shots from the footplate of standard class 4, departing Llangollen and continuing towards Acrefair and Ruabon. Black 5 45305 passing through Ruabon followed by Jubilee 45577. Further shots filmed from carriage window of a passenger train.

This film is part of a collection of 150 8mm films made by John Arnott-Brown, railway enthusiast and amateur filmmaker. John Arnott-Brown filmed the railways in the United Kingdom, mostly steam, between 1960 and 1982. A few films include footage of railways abroad, especially Europe (e.g. Portugal, Spain). The collection includes 5 larger 400 feet reels of edited footage, whilst the rest of the collection is made of small 50 feet reels of unedited footage.
