Painting, gouache (?) on board, Norfolk, Nelson, Born Burnham Rectory, 1758, by Lance Cattermole, 1959. Depicts Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson on the deck of a warship engaged in a battle at sea. Nelson is dressed in his naval uniform complete with decorations, holding a telescope in his left hand, with the redundant right sleeve pinned to his coat. Behind him sailors man the guns as a warship approaches. Probably intended to represent the scene on board HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805. Signed by the artist at top right.
