The first section of the index of drawings has been compiled in a comparative table. It describes the design and cross references the number of the design drawing, page of sketch book and number of notation. It includes a catalogue of the drawings made for the Calculating Engine since August 1834 as well as a classified arrangement of the drawings of the New Engine. The engines referred to here are probably the Analytical Engine.
