Unknown photographer. Depicts first patient to be treated by multifocal leucotomy using chronically-indwelling electrodes. Picture taken after first coagulation. Also in picture: Ray Cooper and William Grey Walter, with an 8 channel EEG machine. Extreme right: a secretary takes shorthand notes of patient's reactions. Technique continued at the Burden Neurological Institute until 1985.
