Describes how coils shorted in the humidity caused by a thunderstorm. Discusses inadequate rebuilding of insulation and reduction of the spring attaching the coil arm to the pen, leading to reduced resonance and increased amplitude. Describes the crescendo of cortical spikes preceding myoclonic jerks and agrees with Walter that these could be attributed to a scanning process in the basal area of the brain.
