Very small pedometer in a gold case. Blued steel hands. The white enamel dial marked from 1 – 10 around the circumference, with a subsidiary dial recording up to 50. The inside back of the case stamped “K 14”, “6” and three indistinct further numbers. Screw pace adjustment. Indistinctly stamped on the bow, which has a facetted gilt-metal split ring. C. 1900. 22mm dia. Maker unknown.

Pedometer in the form of a pocket watch. Brass case with stirrup pendant, deep movement with turned pillars. Engraved silver dial signed round the circumference “Le Maire fils AParis”. Four blued steel hands, the outer ring marked “Nombre” and engraved from 0 to 9, the next numbered from 0 to 9 and inscribed “Dizenne”, the next similarly numbered and marked “Centaine” and the last similarly numbered and marked “Mille”. Mid-18th century. 59mm dia.

An inset brass totalizer dial is stamped 0 to 9. The case glazed to the back. Reset button within the oval bow. The movement steel and brass, with elaborate stamped scroll decoration to the backplate. Snail pace adjustment. The polished weight stamped 15676 BREVETE DRGM SGDG 100237 with a Swiss heraldic cross. Beneath are the letters HC for Henri Chatelain, France and a representation of a pedometer or map wheel. Early 20th cent. 46mm dia.

Pedometer in nickel-plated case. Black painted hand, set from a central screw at the back. White printed dial recording 25 miles and inscribed MILES “SUPREX” 1 Division ¼ Mile. Perspex ‘glass’. Stamped brass movement. Pace size marked behind the bow, the ‘winding’ button providing adjustment. 3rd quarter 20th cent. 47mm dia. “Suprex” were made in Germany by Kasper & Richter for the English market. The sole British distributers were Brian R. Morris & Co, 118b London Road, St Albans.

The white enamel dial numbered from 1 – 10, the subsidiary 10 – 100. Brushed nickel-plated movement with blued screws. The weight stamped DEPOSE H [trademark probably representing a map wheel] C FRANCE ( for Henri Chatelain). The movement very similar to Mus. No. 1433, but parts are polished. Early 20th cent. 34mm dia.

The inner ring, in black records 1 – 20 miles. The dial is inscribed SMITHS STRIDEMASTER and MADE IN GT BRITAIN. The hands are set to zero by the winding button. The length of stride is set by a screw on the back of the pedometer, where a small aperture shows the adjustment in inches. The movement is stamped steel. Pedometer with engine turned silver case. The back centrally engraved with a crest (a gryphon’s head erased) and the initials PHH. Blued steel hand with pierced counter-balance. The white enamel dial with black numerals I – XII over a very pale grey chapter ring. The dial centre with and eight-pointed star painted in blue, its points separating eight tiny flowers with gilt petals. Gilt and blued steel movement, frosted plates. The case numbered 1105 but not hallmarked. Late 19th century. 45.5mm dia. Maker unknown.

Signed AP CO (American Pedometer Co) MADE IN USA PATENTED MARCH 4 1902. The movement stamped brass with brass screws, marked PAT APD FOR. A spiral spring counteracts the weight. A central knurled knob zeros the hands. A flat spring and snail allows stride adjustment. c.1902. 43mm dia.

Belt clip on bow, decorated with an impressed shield & the words “DEPOSE” & “PARIS”. Stamped on the weight is an eagle’s wing and the letters “FWA” within a wheel screw pace adjustment. 40mm dia.
