Circular Parkesine Medallion. Mid brown. One side shows two draped nymphs, one holding a cross, wearing a helmet and carrying a chalice in right hand. Other female carrries book in left hand. Building to right. Underneath figures stamped "Religioni Ac Donis Artibus" "P.W.F". Lower side stamped "Copy of Inscriptionon the pedestal of a bronze statue by Westmacott at Calcutta. Oval shaped medallion. Cream coloured and depicting classical figures on one side. A lounging figure - most likely Zeus, possibly Poseidon. What appears to be an eagle at his feet, Hermes in the background carrying a caduceus, and a nude figure kneeling at the foot of of the seated figure. Test piece for larger plaque? Marked as P246 with number '24' etched on back side. Made by Alexander Parkes; c.1862
