Original 16mm colour footage, filmed and edited by Dr Charles Waine, around 1960-1965. According to a note by the filmmaker, the footage was shot at 16 fps and 24 fps. Most of the shots are taken from the lineside or from a bridge looking over the tracks, and features steam trains. Some shots show permanent way workers and track laying work. 200 feet of footage on 400 feet reel. Approximately 8 minutes.

One photograph titled 'Brussels keep on sprouting'. Caption on the back reads; 'Mr. T. R. Barnett picks some Brussle sprouts in his garden at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, from a plant which has grown to 6ft 3in high and which has already yielded him four pounds of sprouts. Jack may have used magic beans to grow his giant pantomine beanstalk but Mr. Barnett thinks that the secret of his plant's growth is the manure of hop mash from a local brewery.' A stamp on the back reads: 'Comprehensive Service'.
