Photograph of the Design for a Gilded National Monument

A photography of an illustration of the design for the reform pillar titled ‘Design for a gilded National Monument...in commemoration of the passing of the reform Bill’ by Richard Trevithick. It features a scale drawing of the monument with a pyramid and St Paul's Cathedral. The Reformation Act was passed in 1832, in which year Richard Trevithick started to plan the monument, although the photograph is of later date. The photograph of the illustration has presumably been used as a model for the drawing in the biography 'Life of Richard Trevithick', Vol. 2, 1872, p. 393.
