Anne Trevithick (1800-1876; later Anne Ellis), sister of Francis Trevithick, discusses Richard Trevithick’s partnership with Mr. Dickinson for patents: ‘My mother says that Mr. Dickinson had no mechanical knowledge, but poor genius [Richard Trevithick], having no funds of his own, was compelled to take a partner...’.
