F.V. Smith, Curator of the Patent Office Museum, writes about the carriage of ‘the 10 cwt. [hundredweight] piece of Iron’ to the Museum donated by Francis Trevithick (see TREVF/4/101) and the possibility of obtaining the High Pressure Whim Engine made by Richard Trevithick. He states that unfortunately the Museum cannot purchase the piece, but can ask the Treasury to authorise payment for it’s carriage to the Museum.
