Letter from Joseph Armstrong to Francis Trevithick Regarding Mr. Crawshay and the Welsh Locomotive

Letter from Joseph Armstrong, the Locomotive, Carriage and Wagon Superintendent of the Great Western Railway, in reply to a letter of 19th May 1870, explaining that Mr. Crawshay of Hawkes and Crawshay, Newcastle was the brother of Mr. Crawshay in South Wales, hence his knowledge of the Welsh locomotive made by Richard Trevithick. Armstrong promises to make further enquiries about the Newcastle engine but states ‘My own impression is that the Newcastle Engine...?’. (1 sheet/1p.)
