Letter relating to reports of an order for unusual pumping machinery received by Messrs. Harvey and Co.’s Engineering Works. David Trebilcock was a member of a party of fifty who sailed to Peru in 1825 with a view to working the mines in Cerro de Pasco, but was unable to do so due to the failure of Richard Trevithick’s steam engine to work at high altitude.
