[Lantern slides (5) of balances / George A. Owen? 1920s? Each slide is 16 x 12cm, all housed in box. Four balances bear the name L. Oertling, London; the Oertling firm made chemical assay and bullion balances and was hydrometer maker to the Inland Revenue. Box bears name ?Geo. Owen, Smethwick; George Owen was chief inspector of weights and measures for the county borough of Smethwick and member of the executive council of the Incorporated Society of Inspectors of Weights and Measures]

[Lantern slides (29), chiefly of balances / George A. Owen? 1920s. Each slide is 8 x 8cm, all housed in box. Most balances bear the name L. Oertling, London; the Oertling firm made chemical assay and bullion balances and was hydrometer maker to the Inland Revenue. With 5p. ts. list of 1929 Jan of the slides, which also bears name Geo. Owen, Smethwick; George Owen was Chief Inspector of weights and measures for the county borough of Smethwick and member of the executive council of the Incorporated Society of Inspectors of Weights and Measures]
