French corporate film produced by the SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Francais ) with the participation of GEC Alsthom, directed by Jean-Paul Bourdeauducq, in 1990. English version (commentary).
The film features the TGV's speed record at 515.3km/h (320.2 miles per hour) on the 18 May 1990 and the tests conducted prior the record attempt. The record was made with TGV Atlantique, trainset TGV 325 on the Aquitaine branch. The film includes aerial views of TGV, TGVs in workshops sheds, views on board with passengers at 300 km/h, controls and tests, enhancements made to 325 in preparation of the record attempt, and on the day of the record, shots were taken in the driver's cab and on board the carriages where were sitting 40 technicians with equipments.
The film won several international and national corporate and technical film awards and distinctions.
