These letters are from Robert Stephenson, Great George Street, Westminster and Gloucester Square, to Samuel Smiles dated between 1853 and 1858. Letters are mostly in relation to the Smiles' biography of the life of George Stephenson. Robert Stephenson aided with much of the research for the book. Some letters were written after biography's publication in 1857.
