Dear Smiles,
You will see by the Enclosed what a fuss Walker seems disposed to make about the position you have put him with in the Biography
You need not trouble yourself about the lady’s reference to my father's personal appearance. My own opinion is that you have touched the [illegible word] off equally in the right way - more would have been mere fulsome surplusage_ I think I must arrange a quiet meeting at dinner some day between you and Mr Lucas whose acquaintance I should much like to make_ & I think before he replies to our friend Walker it would be useful for you to see him. Have you been able to get a copy of Walker & Rastricks report. I cannot find one. I have no doubt there is one In the institution.
Yours faithfully,
Robt. Stephenson
