Mr. Jesse Hartley. Met me at the Rail Road at the Head of the Tunnel Eve Hill – to try Mr. Winnas, patent carriage, The Wheels that run upon the Rails are 20 Inches diamr. the Ends of the Axle trees are 1 ½ Inches diamr. & two Inches long these Run upon the inside of a friction Wheel which is 8 Inches in diameter and the Gudgeons are one Inch in diameter and 1 ½ in long as per figure in the Margin

20 x 3.1416 x 5 1/3 = 62.832 x 5 1/3 – 335.104 Inches the large wheel must roll over, for one Revolution of the Friction Wheel which as the Gudgeon is one Inch diameter will have a Circumference of 3.1416 Inches & 335.104/3.1416 = 106.66.
