Collection of Air Raid Precaution films (ARP) made by the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and part of the wider collection of films gathered and made by British Railway Research Centre, Derby. 19 pieces of film railways in wartime etc. according to a list from 1976. Only 10 film reels, however it is likely some of the pieces of films were compiled together on a same film reel.

Rhineland Cruise
9 original 8 mm black and white and colour Kodak film footage and 1 digitised 8 mm colour film made by the amateur filmmaker Ken Elliott. The films contain footage taken during office outings and trips in England, Scotland and Ireland, footage of railway work, bridges and viaducts, in the United Kingdom and especially in Sheffield area. There is also family footage apparently shot at the filmmaker's home and around Sheffield area, with his friends and family.

Ambulance men with LMS hat on proceeding to evacuation of casualties (alive and dead) in debris of house, likely to be in Liverpool as a City of Liverpool ambulance is filmed. Caption: 1. The casualty located on the stairway proves to be dead. 2. Just before the casualties are reached, however, a fall of debris breaks on unsuspected gas pipe and the rescuer has to return for remote breathing apparatus. 3. The remote breathing apparatus is improvised from a C.D respirator. 4. Note specially the rubber cap over the respirator container to prevent air containing coal gas being breathed. 5. Pure air, drawn from outside the tunnel, is breathed through the oxygen tube borrowed from oxy-acetylene apparatus. 6. The two casualties, their exit barred by heavy timber, are overcome by the coal gas just before the rescuer breaks through. 7. Owing to obstructions, the casualty cannot be extricated through the hole in the wall, but it is found possible to cut out some floorboards above the top of the debris. 8. All the living casualties having been dealt with, the dead man is removed from the building. 9. The job completed, the squad pack up and return to depot and their normal duties. 10.
