Working drawing of Thompson's engine, said to show the "Belted Will" as built, or rebuilt, for James Thompson of Kirkhouse, Carlisle, 1839. The engine is generally of the Killingworth type; the boiler is fitted with a smokebox and is presumably multitubular. Carmichael's Gab Valve gear is fitted.
