Newcastle, 8th October 1823
Present the undersigned
A letter from Mr Tho. Richardson to George Stephenson dated 3d Inst. was read, recommending his visiting London respecting orders for Engines for Columbia. It was considered advisable that the remarks upon Perkins Engines drawn up by Geo. Stephenson be forwarded to Mr Richardson and in case of its being considered unsatisfactory that GS be at liberty to go up to London at the expence of this Copartnership.
The Minutes of the last meeting were read[.] The Cash acct. ending 30 Sept. was examined drawing a balance of £100. 12. 0½.
It was agreed that until after the ensuing Winter, no other Buildings shall be commenced except the Engine House, Boreing Mill, Lathe Shop & Pattern Shop.
The Newcastle Courant was ordered to be taken in at the expence of the Copartnership.
Rob. Stephenson was requested to procure the Agreement with Anderson for the Ground immediately from W. Bainbridge.
