The Balance Sheet and Accounts ending the 31st Decr 1837 was examined, from which it appears that the sales during the Year 1837 were as follows

A letter from Mr Robt Stephenson dated 12th Feby 1838 was read, requesting a part of the loan due to his Father might be repaid.
It was then resolved, That the sum of £2000 should be paid to Mr George Stephenson by a Bill at 6 Months date from 1st March next.
Secondly, That the sum of £6000 should be divided between the partners according to their respective shares by Bills falling due one half on 31st March and the other half on 30 June next.

Forth Street 10 M (Octr) 20th 1838
At a meeting held in the Office of the Engine Factory
It was resolved
That in future the sum of £5. 5 be annually paid to the Newcastle Infirmary under the firm of Robt Stephenson & Co and that in order to encourage the workmen employed in this concern the sum of £10 be annually paid to the Treasurer of their benefit Club, provided the funds of the said club be entirely confined to the relief of the sick and indigent members or the interment of such - Also that the sum of £10 be paid annually, say £5 to the Boys & £5 to the Girls, of the British & Foreign School Society - if there be more than one such school , then the paid sum to be divided among them.
The above subscriptions may at any time be cancelled when a majority of the partners shall so conclude
It was also ordered, That Messrs Ridley & Co be asked what Interest they will allow upon a deposit Acct of surplus Capital, Also that as many Tradesmens Accounts be paid off as practicable, and that in future they be paid every month deducting 2½ per Ct. And, that it be endeavoured to keep a balance at Ridleys on
