Colliery Office
Darlington 30 Dec 1869
Henry Pease Esq
Sir
On investigation I find that the Colliery Dividends Credited to Your account in the Counting House Ledger during the past year have been as under:
£
12/31:1868 7200
6/30: 1869 800 – in respect of Mr. John Pease’s Share
6/30: 1869 8000
and
12/31: 1869 – there will be credited £8000

[Page 2]

It thus appears that a clear fifth of each dividend paid during the past 3 half years has been duly paid over – which appears to be correct & in accordance with your understanding

& arrangement.
The item of £800 paid in June last was dated ½ a year back in the accounts so that no loss of interest would arise.
I shall be glad to

supply any further information which may be required
I am sir
Your most respectfully
Alfred Jobson
