I have your note & first let me say I agree in everything likely to make the celebration of Cosmopolitan as well as National interest. As regards anything shewing that Railways have ever failed I think I would avoid going into that -- with respect

to the speech I should be very glad to go through the heads with you and then when I know the scopes and general tone I should be very glad to aid in filling up either with facts or statistics & c -- the point of difficulty however is the line, on the whole I think I had better
