Darlington. June 30th 1876
Henry Pease Esq
Dear Sir,
I am obliged to your favor of yesterday returning cheque for £10.230. 14.9 unsigned :- I will not again trouble you with it, but will hope to secure your signature on return from town.
I am sorry my communication produced an unpleasant effect but hope the announcement that £8000 has today been passed to your credit for Colliery Dividends will be an efficacious antidote.
Trusting that your efforts before the Lords Committee will be crowned with success.
[illegible] in Dear Sir
Yours respectfully
