To Edw Pease Esq Darlington
Dear Sir
I now annex you a Balance Sheet for the accounts of Rob. Stephenson & Co to the 30. June last.
In the present unfinished state of the Buildings, Machinery &c, no account could be accurately taken of the value of the Stock and every thing is therefore valued at its cost.
I have paid up my share of the Capital, & will be obliged by your remitting the balance of yours, say £290, as our finances are very low.
I am &c
Signed
Mich Longridge
