At a meeting of the following Share-holders in the concern of Robert Stephenson & Coy held at the George Inn, Newcastle, 12 May 1826
Geo: Stephenson being present the Sixth Clause in the Partnership Agreement, having been taken into consideration, as to the remuneration being given to Geo: Stephenson for assigning his interest in certain Patents therein mentioned to Rt Stephenson & Co, & it appearing that no remunerating value was likely to arise to them equal to the sum then proposed to be assigned to the said George Stephenson, & He being present & of the same sentiment has now consented to wave [sic] & resign all claim to any Reward on the said account
The Balance Sheet ending 31 March last has been this day presented & examined, from which it appears the Capital & Work Debts amount to £17941∶ 5∶ 5½d, & the Buildings Materials & the Property belonging the Company amount to £18571∶ 4∶ 11½, leaving an apparent balance of Profit of £629∶ 19∶ 6d
