A glass photographic negative entitled 'Launch of the 'Black Prince', Thames Ironworks', taken by Edgar Tarry Adams in 1904. Spectators watch expectantly from the balcony above as they wait for the ship's launch. The HMS 'Black Prince' was a Duke of Edinburgh-class armoured cruiser and built by Thames Ironworks in Blackwall London and launched on 8 November 1904. The ship was sunk in the Battle of Jutland in 1916
