Photographic prints of buildings, landscapes and trains
A large collection of loose, photographic prints (mounted and unmounted) developed from glass plate negatives taken by Edgar Tarry Adams, or by his children Francis Norris Adams, Isabel Mary Adams or Pauline Adams.
Prints comprise mostly of undated, miscellaneous images of buildings and landscapes (with a small number of trains) from the late 19th to early 20th Century.
Includes images of trees and fields, the Adams' family homes ‘The Cottage’ and ‘The Bungalow’, church/chapel interiors, windmills, beaches, inside a gymnasium, seascapes, churches, woodland scenes, snowscapes, trains and train stations, St George’s Hall interior, Hastings castle, Lower Walmer Post Office and Telegraph Office, promenades and piers, Halstead Town Hall, plus more.
A small number of prints are annotated and/or dated by Edgar Tarry Adams but the majority would need to be matched up with the corresponding glass plate negative for context or dates
