A glass photographic negative entitled 'Windmill at Rye', taken by Edgar Tarry Adams in September 1898. Adams was fascinated by windmills, photographing them regularly. This interest may have been associated with his study of climatology. He was an accredited observer for the Royal Meteorological Society, frequently recording weather conditions from the beach at Deal in Kent
