Photographic Prints taken by Edgar Tarry Adams and Family

A large collection of loose, photographic prints (mounted and unmounted) developed from glass plate negatives taken by Edgar Tarry Adams, or by his children Francis Norris Adams, Isabel Mary Adams or Pauline Adams.

Many of the prints contain images of the Adams family at their homes 'The Cottage (Halstead) or 'The Bungalow' (Deal), including Edgar Tarry Adams, Helen Adams, Francis Norris Adams, Isabel Mary Adams, Pauline Adams and Gordon Adams. The prints also record the day to day activities of the Adams family and contain images of notable events, such as ship launches, parades and cadet training activities.

Prints comprise mostly of undated, miscellaneous images which fall within four catergories: Sailing boats, rowing boats and ships; People, street scenes and animals; Buildings, landscapes and trains; Military, Navy and Naval Cadets.

A small amount of prints are annotated and/or dated by Edgar Tarry Adams but the majority would need to be matched up with the corresponding glass plate negative for context or dates
