Photograph with a caption that reads: '144905. The Atomic Energy Commissariat of the French Republic. Electrode Forming Lathe. The following set up has been advised by Scribner (1) for all spectrographic analysis. A graphite cylinder is supported by a graphite rod, half the diameter of it. The assembly is arranged through a truncated cone joint. A piece is hollowed out at the top, so as to form a tiny crucible in which the sample is placed. The instrument is used for clean and quick forming of piece. The operation needs only 40 seconds the electrode is never touched by hand, keeping its original cellophane wrapper'.
