Dyelines are prints made by the diazo process, in which a diazo compound is decomposed by ultraviolet light and was used frequently for engineering or architectural drawings. These dyelines were drawn by Science Museum staff in the first half of the 20th century and illustrate various items in the collection or models that were produced for exhibition.
