At St. John Wood
Writing letters - plans & specifications
Tring Contact – writing Papers on the on the Depot and Ld. Southampton’s Road access the Depot.

Tuesday 5
At St. John Wood Watford examined Copeland & Harding’s Contract – thought well of them.

Wednesday 6
Laid Certificates before the Board for Jackson & Sheddon and Copeland & Harding, neither of their Bonds had been signed, consequently no payment made – Took plans in Mail to Leicester.

Thursday, August 7, 1834
Leicester General Meeting at Leicester – all passed off quietly – Mr. Pagetts bad feeling and improper feeling conduct not being expected – he was absent.

Friday 8
At Snibitons, met Mr. Sandars discussed the Shackerstone Branch – decided unfavourable.
Examined the Leicester Locomotive Engine.

Saturday 9
At Coventry, engaged with Gooch in preparing Estimate for the Contracts at the Birmingham end.

Sunday 10
At Gooch’s – went to Church in the Evening with Gooch and Mr. Sam Carter.
